MEXICO SUPREME QUALITY Achieves EurepGAP Equivalence
in Fruit and Vegetables
EurepGAP is pleased to announce that the Mexican Farm Assurance Scheme: MEXICO SUPREME QUALITY-GAP (MSQ-GAP) has successfully achieved equivalence to EurepGAP and signed the recognition agreement. This formal agreement is a cornerstone of EurepGAP`s Benchmarking procedure and provides the basis for close and continuous cooperation between EurepGAP and equivalent schemes. Main focus of the cooperation lies in assuring integrity and robustness of the applied certification systems.

The Mexican standard will initially cover single fruit and vegetable farmers and include farmer groups in the following year. Further expansion towards equivalence for other EurepGAP scopes are foreseen in coffee, flowers and aquaculture.

This initiative is part of the commercial strategy of the Mexican Government to improve access for their products to international markets including Europe.
