Kirvas S.A. has signed up for supplier membership and consecutively signed a contract with EUREPGAP to coordinate the Greek National Workgroup for Fruit and Vegetables.

Kirvas is a company that coordinates quality assurance of growers in Ierapetra, Crete, and markets their produce, mainly cucumbers and pepper, for export or national markets.

During a local EurepGAP Awareness day, jointly coordinated and conducted by Kirvas and T.E. Perakakis, the announcement of the foundation of the Greek National Technical Workgroup was made by Dr. Kristian Moeller, Secretary EurepGAP.

The group will seek to win more national members, which can join, as soon they have signed up for EurepGAP membership (see http://member.eurep.org), and agree a Greek translation of the EurepGAP documents.

Dr. Horst Lang, Head of Quality Assurance, of the  German Hypermarket Chain GLOBUS explained to the 200 participant farmers from the region why they will ask all their suppliers to comply with EurepGAP in the next future.
