Largest German Livestock Association joined as EurepGAP Member
in Integrated Farm Assurance
ADR, "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Rinderzeuchter",  the umbrella organisation of organised cattle production in Germany joined EurepGAP as member in August 2005.

ADR comprises all breeding organisations and organisations for artificial insemination and nearly all embryo transfer institutions for cattle, the milk recording organisations and the data center in Verden.

This move, which was pushed for in particular by the ADR “Quality Assurance” project group of the ADR Performance and Quality Testing Committee, means that the state control associations, milk testing organisations and the VIT Verden data centre can now bring their performance potential in the field of QM to the “EurepGAP” system for the benefit of the agricultural enterprises they serve, and can be involved in establishing and further developing this international quality standard in the field of livestock husbandry.

Once the majority of the state control organisations and milk testing organisations had been integrated into the organisation and following practical implementation of the “QA Symbol System” and the “QM Milk” QM systems, participating in the “EurepGAP” system was the next logical step given the growing importance of the system in agriculture and the food industry. This is particularly significant bearing in mind the agricultural enterprises' desire to receive the agricultural quality management services needed from one competent service provider, thus avoiding constant unnecessary coming and going by consultants and inspectors from third-party organisations.

The central topics of the first meeting with EurepGAP director Dr. Möller were the presentation of the ADR Performance and Quality Testing Committee, the extensive range of QM services offered by the state control associations, milk testing organisations and the VIT data centre, and the possibilities for intensive cooperation in the future.
With its high level of competence and its international ties, particularly in the field of animal husbandry, ADR is an interesting partner for “EurepGAP”. The state control associations, milk testing organisations and the VIT Verden data centre will all benefit from the opportunity to be directly incorporated into the “EurepGAP” system through ADR. This is particularly beneficial with regard to QM consultancy.
