EUREPGAP announces the approval of the Kenya GAP standards. Kenya GAP is the Good Agricultural Practice standard which was developed by the Fresh Produce Exporters Association of Kenya (FPEAK) for fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Qualitätssicherung für Obst und Gemüse: Deutscher LEH setzt auf EUREPGAP
REWE, Tengelmann und Norma treten EUREPGAP bei. Damit baut EUREPGAP seine Position im deutschen Markt aus.
Rund 70% der im deutschen LEH erzielten Umsätze bei frischem Obst- und Gemüse werden jetzt von Unternehmen getätigt, die Mitglieder von EUREPGAP sind. "Wir haben eine Situation erreicht, die sich viele Erzeuger nicht nur in Deutschland gewünscht haben: Es gibt die Chance für eine einheitliche Positionierung des gesamten deutschen Handels zu Anforderungen an Qualitäts-sicherungssysteme bei Obst und Gemüse", erklärt Dr. Kristian Möller, Geschäftsführer von EUREPGAP.

Harmonisierung landwirtschaftlicher Standards in Asien: EUREPGAP jetzt auch in Japan
EUREPGAP erkennt JGAP Standard an.
JGAP, der japanische Standard für Gute Agrarpraxis, wurde durch die gemeinsame Zusammenarbeit von japanischen Erzeugern, Händlern und Zulieferern unter Berücksichtigung der besonderen landwirtschaftlichen Situation Japans entwickelt.

EUREPGAP Zertifizierungen in Asien verdoppelt
Asiatische Länder holen auf bei der EUREPGAP Zertifizierung.
Die Gesamtanzahl der zertifizierten Erzeuger hat sich in Asien in den letzten 12 Monaten mehr als verdoppelt.
EUREPGAP setzt deshalb mit der 8.EUREPGAP Konferenz dieses Jahr am 6. und 7. September 2007 in Bangkok auf diese Region.

Acknowledging this EUREPGAP has organized its annual event in Bangkok on 6th and 7th September 2007. Expert speakers from more than 13 countries will share their views and experience in setting up farm assurance certification in Asia.

International Certification of Farm Product Management - Aeon support Farmers to get Certificate
Aeon will recommend producer groups of their private brand to be certified by EUREPGAP which is considered to be the international standard of good agricultural practice. Aeon is willing to enhance the standard level for controlling agrochemical input followed by consumers’ interest in food safety. Two of their producers have been certified by EUREPGAP. Aeon is going to support producers with the acquisition of EUREPGAP certificate.

EUREPGAP erwirbt Standard für Vermehrungsmaterial
Die in Großbritannien ansässige Plant Propagators Ltd (PPL) überträgt das Eigentum und die Verwaltung seines Programms für sicheres Saat- und Pflanzgut an EUREPGAP. Von Juni 2007 an betreibt EUREPGAP den Standard und wird ihn in das bestehende EUREPGAP Zertifizierungssystem integrieren.

EUREPGAP adquiere una Normativa de Material de Propagación
Plant Propagators Ltd (PPL), con sede en el Reino Unido, ha transferido a EUREPGAP la propiedad y administración de su Programa de Aseguramiento de Material de Propagación. A partir de junio de 2007, EUREPGAP será responsable de la normativa y la adaptará al sistema EUREPGAP.

Cologne, 15. May 2007 – Today, EurepGAP confirmed the appointment of Dr Johannes Kern as the Observer for Africa in the EurepGAP Sector Committees for an initial period until Dec 2008. The role is intended to provide technical support to EurepGAP members in developing countries and to act as a smallholder ambassador identifying ways that can further facilitate the compliance of smallholder farmers with EurepGAP standards.

Über das internationale Qualitätssicherungssystem EUREPGAP, dem sich viele deutsche Handelsunternehmen angeschlossen haben, binden sie künftig afrikanische Volkswirtschaften enger an die Weltwirtschaft. Kleinbauern in Afrika werden zukünftig bei EUREPGAP direkt einbezogen und erhalten ein Mitwirkungsrecht bei Entscheidungen.

EUREPGAP for flower and ornamentals launched in Germany
The first EUREPGAP-certified producer of flower and ornamentals is offering products at the IPM in Essen.
This means that the standard that is already applied in Africa, Central America and South America is now being introduced to the production of flower and ornamentals in Germany.
